The Slow Down for Bobby campaign is all about helping children to keep safe on our roads around schools. Two books to help parents and their children understand the dangers of traffic for children when they are leaving and arriving at school have been produced.
The first is about helping children cross the road safely:
The newest is to make parents think when parking:
The campaign is in everybody’s interests because everybody wants children to be safe – one way of doing that is by joining the campaign; another is by reading the books which remind us to think carefully before parking near a school at arrival and leaving times. They also suggest we can cut down road accidents by following some simple safety rules – such as: don’t park on the zig-zag lines, or on double yellow lines and don’t park on the pavement. We can all play our part in this campaign – so let’s do it!
